Last show of Season 2 featuring freestyle jams with Abby Cline, Apryl Lea, Jack Fahle, and Ron Watson. We’ve also got another throwing lesson, some cuing and communication, and some more The Give is a retrieve to the hand. A cued Give is a foundational skill that is not super useful in the actual performance of disc dog freestyle, and has huge applications for work with Eppie.
Episode #22 Puppy Power! Wham! is the star of this show, doing some disc dog puppy Bitework is an activity or a game that consists of biting and dropping a toy on cue. Cued Bites and cued Drops (and Gives) can be used to teach and reinforce many behaviors.. We hit on some Oppositional Feeding is the opposite of Directional Feeding. The handler throws a disc in the opposite direction that the dog is moving. Oppositional Feeding is a flatwork and training technique used to slow and talk a bit about cuing and sequencing as well. Hope you dig the show!
Welcome to DiscDogger Weekly Episode 19. On this week’s agenda we’ve got disc dog puppy bitework with Grasshopper and a new disc dog star, Wham! We’ve got some discussion of disc dog shapes and Team Movement is how dog and handler move, as a team, out there on the field. It is a judging category in some organizations and certainly is a focus of many judges, players, with UpDog Founder,Jack Fahle, and demonstration of the impact of handler movement on Shapes with Ron & Epic. Throwing is featured this week as well with a lesson on throwing behind the back, a wordy announcement from Pawsitive Vybe, and a freestyle Jam session with Jack & Spice.
While the show is offline for a couple weeks, I’m still working on it. Getting ideas on content and also delivery. I’ve been assembling all of the DiscDogger Weekly Segments into a single show and am thinking that a single weekly show via YT Premiere with single episode segments following might be a better way to deliver the show.
