The Flag and Flash OverAn Over is any leaping catch that happens over top of the handler’s body. Overs are usually named by the part of the body over which the dog flies, i.e - Leg Over,... is based upon the Flag and Flash cuing technique. Flag the disc out there using prey driven cuing and when the dog commits to the bite flash it away to really turn on his prey drive.
The Flag and Flash Over is typically thought of as a cross body over, where the dog moves from left to right or vice versa but it can be done with a leg over and other overs and vaults.
The Flag and Flash Over typically is a “dirty over”, the dog drags or touches the handler a bit while going over. Trajectory can be altered to avoid the dirty over by giving the dog a really high flag. A dip down a bit as the dog is flying can also be employed to avoid her feet touching the obstacle.
