So our first UpDog in St Louis went well. We had a terrific turn out with nearly 120 runs. It was a beautiful day and,
Ron Watson & Epic do an UpDog Freestyle Showcase Performance round of Freestyle in gallows humor fashion to Cake’s Sinking Ship.
I happened to catch a live stream session by Ricky Jones the other day on FB. It’s a nice session with a malinois puppy featuring shaping, cookies, and toys, and is a good mix between action and thoughtful work.
Disc Quan Do is a disc dog martial art. It means “Way of the Disc Dog”. In a pop culture sort of way, it is a silly thing, I mean, “Disc Quan Do”… While it is a bit silly in a pop culture sort of way, it is quite sincere in reality. Martial arts are more than fighting and more than sport. It is the study of fighting as well as the study of the self and is not of “sport”, it is art.

DiscDogger Weekly disc dog webseries by Pawsitive Vybe Episode #2. Featuring Apryl Lea & Jack Fahle. Playlist includes 3 Lessons and 8 Jams
Back in the day there was this really cool disc dog freestyle show called Discdogger Weekly, produced by Josh Grenell, co-founder of the MN Disc Dog Club. Josh and I were kicking out a ton of great freestyle footage back in the day, and he was the first to come up with something that resembled a real show.
Last week while looking at my weekly output on YouTube and having shared every post on Discdogger FB Group, I thought I’d try to make a weekly show of it… I asked Josh if I could resurrect the show, and here we are.
Several important lessons from this Flash Jam. It never ceases to amaze me, the things that can be learned by doing things you don’t always do… Staying aware and open and being present during these jams is nothing short of amazing.
Expressing yourself ought to be the point of the whole game of disc with a dog. See or dream it, train it, do it. Make people get the feels while you do so.
Hang out with the PVybe Pack, watch hours of dog training edutainment, get in home training plans and/or lessons tailored to you and your dog, and support a couple of cool dog trainers who have given the dog training community years of free, cutting edge dog training and disc dog content.
Patrons Only – Training Jam…
A training jam with instruction culled from a Patron’s Only Epic Live Stream…
Mistakes Are. They exist, they will happen, and you and your dog will make them. Yes, even dogs make mistakes. All dogs know this.

So the first group video chat is in the books. It was bad ass!
Intent is not the same as trying. It’s about doing and purpose. Intent is purposeful doing and purposeful doing as a habit changes everything.
Tricks, drills, and skills have various purposes. Handlers must approach those skills with proper intent in order to capitalize on the various purposes of tricks, drills, and skills.
Flow is about more than keeping it moving or moving fast. Glaciers can flow. Rockslides can flow. Sand flows through the hourglass. The smoother and more flexible the stuff, the more flexible and fluid the flow. Such is the Way of things that flow.
So I've been working on class functionality, bringing some fun, function, and style to our online classes using EcammLive, a sweet production software for Mac computers and I've decided to take the leap into live-streaming. Last night I made a couple of test runs, one on FB and one on YT, and they turned out pretty solid. Which is a bit surprising as I'm working from cellular internet. I did have a bit of a SNAFU at the end of the stream, for some reason the stream conked out and we lost the chat, which is a bummer, as a few great questions came out in chat.
I will be working through my content and will be taking questions on all topics within the show. Last night on YT, a quick test turned into an hour+ long QnA session with a Canadian jammer, Ink of the Dragon, and a call in chat with Georgios of PVybe Greece and Feral Apparel. The stream midway through the chat with G, which is a bummer, but all in all it was a great test of capabilities.
I'd love to get some disc dog images, short vids (5-10seconds), and memes. If you got some cool visual discdog propaganda, send it to me and I'll put it into the intro of the show.
I'll be doing livestreams on the fly pretty frequently, I think. We'll figure out the where's and when's in the next few weeks before fall hits, but it's coming.
You should try to hang out and if you want to chat on the air or want to do a proper interview/discussion, just hit me up via Skype.
See you soon!
Peace & Happy Jamming!
