Distance Learning Group Video Chat
27th October
We’ve been working really hard here at PVybe HQ on our distance learning program. Earlier this summer Google+ came out and really changed our game with their group video chat application, Google Hangouts.
We are now doing live group video chats with our Disc Dog Foundation classes and we have put together a Personalized Training program that we’ll be rolling out with great fanfare over the next month or so.
Our Bitework for Behavior class is coming back next week and I’m extremely excited to get on with it. We have been holding off for a while hoping to get more people involved, as the class requires a good deal of participation from the members, but our recent Disc Dog Foundation group video chats make it much easier to teach this online. We’re really stoked. Enrollment is still open for class. Get … Read More »

Distance Learning Program Starts Nov 17th
6th November
We’re pretty excited here at PVybe HQ. Not this coming week, but the week after, the Pawsitive Vybe Distance Learning program starts up and classes ensue. That’s so cool!
I’ve been trying to make the online distance learning thing happen for about 10 years now and given the maturity of technology and awesome administrative support (Thanks WebManna!) it looks like we’re a “Go”.
Apryl and I are putting the finishing touches on two loaded classes: Disc Dog Foundation and Working Multiple Dogs. We’re creating documents, organizing video, and planning and preparing content. It’s pretty exciting.
Keep your eyes on our blog over the next couple weeks. We’ll be kicking out some teaser content, fleshing out the distance learning details and delivering class news.
Stay Tuned for Knowledge
Disc Dog Foundation Class
16th October
The Pawsitive Vybe Disc Dog Foundation class is six weeks long and is for all skill levels.
Before you write this class off as ‘too basic’ ask yourself these questions?
Can my dog go around both ways? Can we scoot from front, heel and side positions? Do we have good team movement when a disc is not in the air? Do I throw discs that make my dog look good? Do we have good clean vaults and how easy is it to create new vaults? Can we create and perform new sequences in just a few minutes?
If your answers to these questions are not all a simple, “Yes,” then this class will benefit you and your dog.

Disc Dog Throwing Class
15th October
We do a pretty good job of throwing discs and teaching people to throw discs to dogs.
We’re starting an Online Throwing Class in a couple weeks and wanted to give everyone an update on thedevelopment of the class and give you all a sneak peak into the subject matter.
Week 1:
Flowing Catch
Learn how to learn through play. A simple game of catch with a couple of rules can lead to amazing advances in throwing ability. Expand your repertoire of throws and develop your own style that will make you feel and look cool.
Week 2:
The Flick Myth
Learn how to throw discs that defy gravity and set your dog up for big leaping. A simple reframing of the flick concept will have you throwing like a pro in no time.
Week 3:
Runners and Floaters
Get familiar with the concepts of Runners … Read More »
Multiple Dog Class Is Shaping Up
15th October
We are about 2 weeks away from starting the Pawsitive Vybe Distance Learning Classes and I’m working on the Working Multiple Dogs online distance learning class this morning.
The outline for this class has been done for months, but now that I have to get specific, I’m starting to realize just how big a job it is. There’s a ton of stuff that we need to get together: video, blog entries, pics and such, but it’s pretty much ready to go.
Here’s a quick breakdown of this 6 week class:
Week 1:
Shaping the Spot
We are going to stabilize one dog using go to Spot – Pedastal behavior. This behavior will be shaped with all of the handler’s dogs separately and then used to keep the non-working dog(s) out of our business as we work with another dog. There are about 40 sub-categories in this … Read More »
