Disc Management

Disc Management is a disc dog term that describes management and organization of discs throughout the routine.

Disc Management is a scored category in most disc dog freestyle organizations and has great impact upon the flow and energy level of the routine. A good rule of thumb is to carry 3 discs in your hands at all times.

Disc Management is not just a handler’s skill or a something that the handler designs a routine around. The dog should play a role in Disc Management too. Stimulus control over the Drop means that the dog will carry a disc until he is asked to drop it, giving the dog some responsibility for Disc Management and taking some pressure off the handler.
